Cookery and Baking
Growing up around my father's restaurant business, I developed a passion for cooking and baking. Like many, I found myself spending more time on this hobby during the COVID-19 lockdown. Initially, it was a way to recreate the English dishes I missed from home, such as Shepherd's Pie, Cauliflower Cheese, and a proper Sunday roast dinner with all the trimmings, which were hard to find or expensive in China.
Since then, I have expanded my repertoire to include baking my own bread—Baguettes, Focaccia, Hokkaido Milk Bread, Ciabatta, wholemeal sandwich loaves, Pita Bread, and more. I also enjoy making homemade pizza and pasta and experimenting with sous-vide cooking. Cooking for family and friends has become an unexpected yet immensely satisfying hobby.
